& NURTURING FAMILIES

Treated like children and expected to behave like adults, adolescents are often misunderstood. The change in hormones, desire for self-discovery, and push for independence can produce challenges at school, with peers, and in the parent-child relationship. Without appropriate coping skills, teens can develop unhealthy behaviors including self-harm, suicidal ideation, eating disorders or behavioral problems such as fighting others and substance use.

We recognizes that teens need individualized treatment as unique as they are. Using different modes of therapy, including play, art, sand, music, EMDR, and mindfulness, Anastasia focuses on the concerns of the adolescent, while examining the interactions of each family member. Counseling is built on interpersonal relationships, helping the teen and family grow and heal.
